The Area

Safety

Located in Bandar Enstek, Negeri Sembilan, the campus is set in a quiet, green suburban neighborhood. The private 50-acre estate features around-the-clock manned security checkpoints, full perimeter monitoring, and resident staff patrols, ensuring an exceptionally secure environment for boarders.

Weather

Epsom experiences a tropical climate with steady year-round temperatures averaging between 28°C and 32°C (82°F–90°F), with no distinct seasons. Rain showers and squalls are common in the late afternoon, so a folding umbrella or raincoat is handy. Classrooms and indoor facilities are fully air-conditioned, making a light jacket or sweater recommended for daily indoor use.

Accessibility

Epsom’s key location advantage is its proximity to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), located just 15 minutes away by car. Direct flights connect Japan with KLIA (about 6.5–7 hours), allowing students to reach campus almost immediately upon arrival. The school arranges convenient shuttle transfers at the start and end of each term. Central Kuala Lumpur is approximately a 45 to 50-minute drive away.

Food

Surrounding commercial areas in nearby Nilai (15-minute drive) and Kuala Lumpur (45-minute drive) offer a wide variety of cafes, modern Malaysian eateries, and authentic Japanese restaurants.

Culture

Epsom combines authentic British boarding traditions with Malaysia’s inclusive, multicultural atmosphere. Educating students from 30 countries, the school actively celebrates cultural festivals such as Chinese New Year, Hari Raya, Deepavali, and Christmas, instilling global citizenship, mutual respect, and sportsmanship.

Tips for Japanese Students

First-hand advice from Japanese students on finding food and everyday essentials.

Grocery

For daily shopping, students and families can visit AEON Mall Nilai or Lotus’s, located just 10–15 minutes from campus. The AEON supermarket offers an excellent selection of imported Japanese seasonings, condiments, snacks, and personal care goods. Specialty Japanese groceries can also be ordered online or bought at Don Don Donki or Isetan in central Kuala Lumpur.

Getting There

Access from Japan

Direct flights fly from major Japanese airports (Tokyo Haneda/Narita, Osaka Kansai) to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) via Malaysia Airlines, JAL, ANA, or AirAsia, taking roughly 6.5–7 hours. From KLIA, the Epsom campus is just a 15-minute taxi or private shuttle drive, making it exceptionally accessible for international boarders.
